Kelly Fishman DVM, CVA, CCRT
Veterinary School: Ross University, College of Veterinary Medicine Internship Training: University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine
I grew up in Los Angeles and was born with a bleeding heart for animals. Rumor has it that my first word was “cat.” Since then, I have spent my life helping animals of all shapes and sizes to maintain or regain an active and comfortable lifestyle. After receiving my Bachelor of Science at UC Berkeley, I conducted veterinary and neuroscience research at UCSF and began work as a veterinary nurse in the East Bay. I earned my veterinary degree at Ross University and completed an internship in integrative medicine at the University of Florida. While at UF, I trained in animal acupuncture and physical rehabilitation and learned how to formulate specialty diets and advise on supplements.
My veterinary career has allowed me to work alongside many other great vets like Dr. Jessica Waldman at CARE in Los Angeles and at SAGE Veterinary Center in Redwood City—until I founded Strut (alongside my three cats, Oliver, Sophia, and Nelson) with the sole mission to extend pets’ health span, not just life span.
As relevant to each patient’s case, I am certified to incorporate Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Veterinary Herb Medicine and am licensed to provide in-home veterinary care to my clients who have restrictions getting to their regular clinic due to disability or the pandemic. I use Animal Physical Rehabilitation to regain animals’ mobility after neurologic and orthopedic surgery, provide therapy for managing neurologic impairments (such as Wobblers), and improve senior pets’ mobility so they can have the happiest quality of life possible during their golden years.
